1. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Webspot (“Webspot,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit https://webspot.app, browse our directory, search or filter listings, submit a website, tool, product, or service, create or manage an account, subscribe to our newsletter, make a purchase, contact us, or otherwise use our services (collectively, the “Service”).
Webspot is a web-discovery and listing platform that helps visitors discover websites, tools, guides, products, and online services. The Service may include searchable and categorized listings, listing detail pages, upvotes or similar engagement features, featured listings, website-submission tools, a blog, a newsletter, support communications, and links to third-party websites.
This Policy does not cover third-party websites, products, applications, or services that you may access through a Webspot listing or other link on the Service. Those third parties maintain their own privacy practices, which we encourage you to review.
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
- Account information, such as your name, email address, username, password, and account preferences;
- Listing and submission information, such as your business or product name, website URL, description, category, tags, logo, screenshots, contact information, social or promotional links, and other information you submit in connection with a listing;
- Public-facing listing content, including information you choose to make available through a published listing, such as product descriptions, website links, categories, tags, logos, images, pricing labels, and other promotional content;
- Newsletter information, such as your email address and subscription preferences;
- Payment and transaction information, such as the plan selected, transaction status, payment amount, billing details, and purchase history. Payment-card information is processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, and is not stored directly by Webspot;
- Communications, including support requests, questions, feedback, survey responses, and other messages you send to us;
- Account and notification settings, such as email-notification preferences; and
- Other information you voluntarily choose to provide.
When you visit or use the Service, we may automatically collect:
- Device and browser information, such as IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, browser language, and device or browser identifiers;
- Usage and interaction information, such as pages viewed, listings searched for, categories or tags selected, features used, search terms, referral source, access times, clicks, and interactions with listings, links, buttons, and forms;
- Log and diagnostic information, including technical logs, error reports, crash information, performance data, and security-related activity;
- Approximate location information derived from your IP address;
- Referring and destination URLs, including the webpage that referred you to Webspot and, where applicable, links you select from the Service; and
- Cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 5.
We may receive personal information from third parties, including:
- Payment processors, which may provide payment confirmation, transaction status, fraud-prevention information, and limited billing-related information;
- Analytics, security, hosting, error-monitoring, and technical service providers that help us operate, secure, and improve the Service;
- Email and communications providers that support newsletter delivery, customer communications, or marketing campaigns;
- Authentication or account-management providers, where applicable;
- Publicly available sources, where permitted by law, in connection with reviewing, verifying, improving, or moderating listings; and
- Third parties who submit a listing or report an issue involving you, your organization, your website, or your content.
We may use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Create, authenticate, and manage accounts;
- Process website, tool, product, and service submissions;
- Review, moderate, publish, edit, categorize, tag, feature, or remove listings;
- Display publicly submitted listing information on the Service;
- Enable visitors to search, browse, filter, compare, and discover listings;
- Process one-time listing purchases, verify transactions, prevent payment fraud, and maintain transaction records;
- Provide paid listing features, including featured placement, priority placement, trust-badge access, and customer support, where applicable;
- Send service-related messages, including account, security, payment, submission-status, and policy-update communications;
- Deliver newsletters and other marketing communications where permitted by law and subject to your choices;
- Respond to support requests, feedback, questions, and reports of broken links, inaccurate listings, or policy violations;
- Monitor for fraud, abuse, spam, security incidents, illegal activity, and violations of our Terms of Service;
- Analyze usage patterns, engagement, search activity, and Service performance to improve user experience, features, content, and directory quality;
- Enforce our Terms of Service and other policies;
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights, safety, and property of Webspot, users, and others; and
- Facilitate a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.
Webspot is a public discovery and directory platform. Information submitted for a listing may be displayed publicly, indexed by search engines, shared through third-party search results or AI-assisted search experiences, cached by third parties, or accessed by visitors worldwide.
For example, a published listing may include:
- Your product, business, website, or service name;
- Website URL and destination links;
- Description, category, tags, and other listing metadata;
- Logo, image, screenshot, or other visual asset;
- Public contact, social-media, or promotional information you include;
- Pricing labels or service descriptors you submit; and
- Engagement information, such as upvotes or other platform activity, where enabled.
Please do not submit confidential information, sensitive personal information, payment-card information, private credentials, or information you do not have the right to publish.
If you request removal or correction of a listing, contact [email protected]. We will evaluate requests in accordance with applicable law and our operational needs. Removal from Webspot does not guarantee removal from search-engine indexes, third-party caches, archives, or external sites that may already have collected or displayed the information.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, local storage, pixels, web beacons, SDKs, and similar technologies to operate and understand the Service.
These technologies may include:
- Essential cookies and storage technologies necessary for site functionality, security, authentication, session management, fraud prevention, and remembering basic preferences;
- Functional technologies that remember settings, account preferences, and user choices;
- Performance and analytics technologies that help us understand site traffic, page performance, search activity, feature usage, and user experience; and
- Communications technologies that help us measure or manage newsletter and service-email delivery, where applicable.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect the functionality, security, or availability of parts of the Service.
Where required by applicable law, including in the EEA and UK, we will obtain consent before setting non-essential cookies or similar technologies and provide options for managing those choices.
Webspot does not sell personal information for money. We also do not knowingly use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this Policy and provide any required notice and opt-out mechanisms.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share personal information as follows:
- With the public, when you submit information for publication in a listing, profile, comment, or other public-facing area of the Service;
- With service providers, including providers of hosting, infrastructure, databases, storage, security, analytics, error monitoring, email delivery, customer support, and technical operations;
- With payment processors, including Stripe, to process purchases, prevent fraud, manage payment disputes, and maintain transaction records;
- With communications and email providers, to deliver newsletters, support communications, account notices, and marketing communications;
- With professional advisers, such as attorneys, accountants, auditors, insurers, and consultants, where necessary for business, legal, compliance, or security purposes;
- With legal authorities or other parties, when required by law, legal process, court order, or governmental request, or when we reasonably believe disclosure is needed to protect rights, safety, property, users, or the public;
- With business transferees, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, dissolution, bankruptcy, or sale or transfer of all or part of our business or assets; and
- With your direction or consent, including when you ask us to share information or use an integration that involves third parties.
Our service providers may use personal information only as necessary to provide services to us or as otherwise permitted by law.
7. Payments
If you purchase a paid listing or related feature, payment processing is handled by Stripe. Stripe may collect and process payment-card details, billing information, transaction information, device information, and fraud-prevention data under its own privacy policy and terms.
Webspot receives limited payment-related information from Stripe, such as payment confirmation, transaction status, the selected purchase, payment amount, and limited billing or customer details needed to provide the purchased service, address support issues, prevent fraud, and comply with accounting and legal obligations.
We do not store full payment-card numbers on our systems.
8. Marketing and Communication Choices
You may receive service-related communications that are necessary to administer your account, respond to your submission, process a transaction, protect security, or notify you of important changes. You cannot opt out of these communications while maintaining an active account or transaction relationship, except as permitted by law.
For marketing or newsletter emails, you can unsubscribe by using the unsubscribe link included in the email or by contacting [email protected]. Even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may continue to send non-promotional service-related communications.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
Retention periods may include:
- Account information: Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, subject to deletion requests, legal requirements, security needs, and dispute resolution;
- Published listing information: Retained while the listing remains active or publicly available and, after removal or account closure, as reasonably necessary for backups, audit records, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and legitimate business purposes;
- Payment and transaction records: Retained as necessary for accounting, tax, legal, fraud-prevention, and payment-dispute purposes;
- Newsletter information: Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to records needed to honor your opt-out preference and comply with law;
- Usage, log, security, and analytics information: Retained for a limited period reasonably necessary for security, diagnostics, performance measurement, and service improvement; and
- Support communications: Retained as needed to address your request, maintain support history, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. These measures may include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication safeguards, system monitoring, security review, restricted access to personal information, and contractual controls with service providers.
No internet-based service, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Data Transfers
Webspot may process personal information in the United States and other countries where we, our affiliates, or our service providers operate. These countries may have privacy laws that differ from those in your country of residence.
When we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to countries that may not provide an equivalent level of data protection, we will use legally recognized transfer mechanisms and safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the UK Addendum.

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable legal limitations, you may have the right to:

- Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- Request deletion of personal information;

13. California Privacy Disclosures
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”), may provide you with additional rights.
In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers, such as name, email address, IP address, account username, and online identifiers;
- Customer records, such as billing details and transaction history;
- Commercial information, such as listing purchases, plan selection, and transaction information;
- Internet or other electronic network activity, such as browsing, search, clickstream, and interaction information;
- Approximate geolocation information derived from IP address;
- Professional or employment-related information, where you voluntarily include it in a listing or communication;
- User-generated content, including submitted listing details, messages, feedback, images, files, and links; and
- Inferences drawn from the information above, such as general interest in categories, tools, or content.
We collect these categories from you, automatically from your device or browser, from service providers, and from third parties as described in Section 2. We use and disclose them for the purposes described in Sections 3 and 6.
We do not knowingly sell personal information for money or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide required notice and opt-out rights.
California residents may request access, deletion, or correction by contacting [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

- Legal obligation: To comply with tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, consumer-protection, and other legal requirements; and
- Protection of vital interests: Where necessary in limited circumstances to protect someone’s life or safety.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority. We encourage you to contact us first so we can attempt to resolve your concern.
15. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the Service.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it. 16. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, products, tools, platforms, and services. In particular, Webspot listings commonly direct visitors to external websites and services operated by listed businesses or creators.
When you leave Webspot or interact with a third-party service, that third party’s privacy policy—not this Policy—governs its handling of your information. Webspot is not responsible for third-party privacy practices, security, content, or services.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last Updated” date above.
If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice where required by law, such as by emailing the address associated with your account, displaying a notice within the Service, or obtaining consent where required.
